3 Things to Know About "Called"

Called: My Journey to C. S. Lewis's House and Back Again will be out in less than a month. It's been a long journey, but the big day is nearly here.

Set in historic Oxford, England and the former home of C. S. Lewis, Called is a memoir on calling. It's an honest account of the exciting peaks and difficult valleys of mine and my wife's journey of leaving home, career, and community to pursue a calling.

It's also a wrestling with the question of what it even means to be called.

Here are three things to know about the book.

"Called" Sneak Peek

"Called" Sneak Peek

Several years ago Donald Miller (one of my favorite writers) wrote a book called A Million Miles in a Thousand Years. Just before it was released I received a note inviting me to download a special sneak-peak at the book.

I remember thinking how cool it was to read part of the book before it was out. I also remember thinking that if I ever had my own book published, I'd want to do the same thing.

'Called' Excerpt: Faith Like Fireworks

The fine folks at Jesus' Economy, a non-profit dedicated to creating jobs and churches in the developing world, have been kind enough to share an excerpt from my new book, Called: My Journey on C. S. Lewis's House and Back Again (Feb 2015, Leafwood Publishers). Check it out over at the Jesus' Economy blog.

This particular excerpt is a story about fireworks, leaving everything to pursue a calling, and the kind of stories that move us so much we have tell others. It's one of my favorite scenes from Called. I hope you enjoy it.

Oh, and stay tuned. I'll be posting a free download of the Introduction and first chapter from Called right here next week!
